Hello, I recently got notified from the Synopsys recruiter that I was selected for the Senior Design Engineer role and I was wondering what are the realistic expectations for TC. I will have to move to Sunnyvale and also was asked to provide an initial range for TC. Current Location: Northern California Current Base: 148k RSU: 15k Bonus: 12% Base YOE: 5.5 years (MSEE) I've been reading that Synopsys offers RSU depending on the level (68 and above) so again I would like to get what's a realistic offer I could be looking at for this position. #synopsys #synopsysinc #offer #intel
Ask for more base! Yearly salary hikes are minimal
Thanks for the insight, what would you say would be a good amount?
Is it sr2 level? Then it's very difficult to get much higher base... And no rsu below 68.
Synopsys doesn't offer RSU for levels below 68?
my friend joined as a Sr R&D2, i.e., level 67, and he got RSU (10k USD vested in 3 years) Noida,India
Interesting! Thanks for the reply
Does synopsys india offer stock refreshers with yearly increments?
Did u end up joining ? I have an offer too
Run in the opposite direction
Makes sense; however, prior to submitting the application I saw other roles from a higher level stand point (Staff, Sr. Staff, etc) and the max base salary range on those went to 207k base. Now, considering that, the max range on the req I applied for was 180k. I can for sure ask 220k base but not sure if it's realistic considering the max range was 180k on the position req. I definitely don't want to go backwards from my current TC so anything less is already a loss for me.
Yea, sound advice to be fair. Initially I was thinking about asking for some RSU (also read around that Synopsys doesn't typically offer RSU as part of TC unless you're Staff level), but you make a good point here.
