I was about to say, let’s not drag eBay’s name in it. But after reading the news it seems pretty systematically done team work in eBay. Very shameful at such a top level.
Holy shit. This needs to be national news.
It is.
What kind of an executive obsesses over one couple let alone a group of executives? These execs have way too much time to be pursuing low petty vengeance...
Pretty sure this was EcommerceBytes based on the description in the story.
I’m very critical of what eBay does but this one should not be pinned on eBay’s name. It’s couple of sick people trying to coverup something that might have led to their careers being ended. Blame it on people. I can assure you that eBay values people and would never do this.
Values people ? They layoff every 3 months
Is the severance good? Would love to be laid off but def not at my current company
Feels there is more to it than the news. What is the motive ? Is it just about some comments ?
If it’s one person I can understand, why a group from eBay ?
Here is how I imagine it went down. Wymer joins eBay as Chief Comms officer. He's trying to make a good impression, but quickly realizes this thorn called ecommercebytes. Notices pretty much everyone at eBay hates this blog, and even hears some fellow execs talking about what they would love to do to her. Wymer decides maybe I can make my new CEO happy by sending her some nasty packages as a half joke/half I really hate this B and then texting him about it for a laugh. So he tells one of his employees "hey do this" and they want to impress their new boss CCO. They enlist the security dudes to covertly do this for them, telling them it is requested by CCO. Then after another scathing blog post, decides let's do more, until the whole thing is completely out of hand. But maybe I'm wrong, because neither Wymer or Wenig has been indicted. Maybe Wymer was wise enough not to put anything concrete in writing, so it is his word against his minion and maybe Wenig thought the whole thing was just a joke, or maybe he full well knew everything. Who knows?
I second above comment, I know ebay is a people’s company strive to value human life and bring positive changes to retailers and small sellers who are struggling at this moment. It is unfair to blame a company that really tries to help people.
What were they covering up ??
Shameful and hurtful. Never expected this from a fellow ebay employee.
