Hyundai appears to be receptive to consumer wants. Most Japanese car companies just want to keep selling the same stuff. European cars are also conservative, but they are still desirable. I am also excited about Chinese cars. They have come a long way.
Yes, Kia and Hyundai have improved a lot for example. Even car people get them. Japanese cars need to improve in the design department. Except for Lexus, which does a great job IMO.
No ways Ioniq sedan looks like it melted in the sun. Santa Fe is an illegitimate child of a ford flex and Range Rover. Then you have a weird 3 door veloster n. Hyundai should stick to building ships
I love both Ford Flex and Range Rover. The Santa Fe needs a power-adjustable steering wheel. It is 2024 and basic driver settings should have memory. It is the most exciting new car in 2024 though.
Ioniq 6 is divisive, people tend to either love or hate it. Which is great, I'd very much prefer to have that over Toyota's strategy of making bland but inoffensive cars.
Low quality of build, only better look.
Car is not your entertainment place. It primarily has one function, which is to save your time. Japanese cars do that the best. Never have to worry about anything more than normal maintenance. Reliability kings. On the other hand, there is always something wrong with Korean and German, and american car's engines or transmissions or electronics. One after the other. I hate having to worry about my car.
Not a car enthusiast ☝🏻.
I was, at one point. But, then I realized that the time and peace of mind are what truly matter in life. No matter what new cool features your car has, there are new ones coming every other year. Your car is a depreciating asset. Ask those Tesla fan boys who bought Model Y at 80K. 2 years later, it values less than 30K.
“European cars are too conservative”?? WTF? German cars all the way for me. No comparison with Asian cars. These so called “conservative” cars are light years ahead in drive handling, engine and quality of manufacture compared to anything from Asia.
They are conservative in a good way. I will only lease German cars. If I have less restrictive budgets, I would rather get German-owned British cars.
I love my Kia, but it's got its issues. And yes, I am definitely not a car guy. That's why I own a Kia.
Hyundai have some engine problems today unlike the days prior to 2010. I would stay away as they don’t last much longer than 100k.
Frankly all newer engines will have more problems because they are designed to run hotter for better fuel efficiency. Most cars are designed to be disposable nowadays. Just ride the depreciation curve accordingly and don't plan to keep it for long.
I have Hyundai Palisade and I love it
Japanese cars are well built but they release too few models and don't keep up with modern features, old designs. European cars are nice and modern but have poor reliability, poorly built. Who wants junk from 🇰🇷
Korean cars will replace Japanese cars like Samsung replaced Sony. But Chinese cars (largest exporter of cars) will trump all. Our last TVs were Sony and then Samsung. We may get a TCL next. European cars are not unreliable. The BMWs we leased were superbly dependable. Poorly built? I don't know what you are talking about.
Sony still takes a massive shit on Samsung in terms of actual quality.
Japanese car infotainment systems are so bad
They used to be the best. I used to be a Lexus fan. Their nav system 20+ years ago was better than those found in other cars 10 years ago.
Agree 💯
