Racism towards Indians
Microsoft’s known MO is to COPY successful tech products from the pioneers, creating inferior duplicates, then gain marketshare via cheap licensing fees. Examples: - Windows copying the Macintosh UI from Apple (albeit also stealing ideas from Xerox PARC.) - TrueType stealing from Adobe Type 1 - Word, Excel, and the whole Office suite stealing from IBM Lotus, Borland, WordPerfect (Corel) — too many to mention - Visual Studio knocking off of Borland Turbo C++. J++ stealing from Sun Java. - XBox knocking off from Sony Playstation - Windows 95 Start menu stealing from IBM OS/2 - IE stealing from Netscape - MSSQL from Oracle - XDP, Silverlight (stealing from Adobe, again — PDF and Flash) - Back to modern times, Hyper-V stealing from VMware, some useless Remote Desktop suite copying VMware Horizon, Azure from AWS, Win11 UI from macOS, and I’m sure there’s a ton more. The difference here might be they have seasoned engineers who will make their copycat products better over time. Still, calling Microsoft an “innovator” is much of a stretch.
Looks like someone got rejected recently
Never applied. But attacking me personally proves you accept the fact you’re not working for an innovator. Just a copycat.
I used to be a windows guy, then I started using a mac on a regular basis. I still use windows for gaming, but even with my high-end pc, both the windows UI and UX feel like stuttering BS. I kind of would rather use Linux, if only I could game properly on it.
Ever heard of competition? Lol
I’m not talking about competition. The whole point here is MS is no innovator, but just a copycat.
Name a Microsoft product that’s as original as the iPod or iPhone (Zune and Microsoft Phone obviously don’t apply.) I’ll wait.
Surface. It was way ahead of competitors.
You mean the giant iPad? Why suddenly going into touch screen UI after Apple’s introductions of iPhone and iPad and not before?
I don’t think what he said is wrong. Maybe that Microsoft is hardly ever first to the table or one the one to do it better than everyone else.
MS was founded around the same time with Steve Jobs’ Apple. They didn’t even try. Copying and destroying the pioneers have always been parts of their business model. Bill Gates and Microsoft are not the role models for anything decent. It’s been like that for the last two decades, and they’ll never change.
Have you heard of holoportation?
Oh no, not another potential vaporware from MS Research. I guess judgement is still out on this one, but MS Research doesn’t have a good track record.
You seem to have forgotten your question. Let me remind you. You were asking about innovation. Holoportation is an innovation. Tell me who invented this before MS.
Can’t deny what you said. It is just an org that is run well and making $ for shareholders. That’s all matters I guess
I’m just pointing Microsoft is nothing to be admired of. Same with Bill Gates. The guy’s making himself word’s saver, but looking back at his whole life accomplishments, he’s nothing but an opportunist, and is neither ethical nor visionary.
