Hi, Posting on behalf of my spouse: I am actively interviewing for the Data Analyst role and wanted to know how you guys get so many offers without jeopardizing offers received first. Will HR would be willing to wait? I am interviewing with two types of companies: a. Service-based companies like Latentview, Tiger Analytics, TCS, and Fractal (interview process is much faster) b. Product companies like Adobe, Teladoc, Getty Images, Intuit Most likely, I will get an offer from a service-based company of ~$110-120k, but I want to try my luck at product-based companies because the pay and work-life balance would be better compared to service-based companies. Please help me to once I an offer, how do I delay accepting it (mostly in service-based companies)? Also, if I accept the offer, can I not join? If I join, can I quit easily? This is going to be my first job in the USA. I am on L2 EAD. YOE: 6 years in India in Data Analytics #dataanalyst #dataanalytics #jobsearch #offers #latentviewanalytics #tcs #fractalanalytics

You don't. Depending how much time, you can ask for a start date a month out, or you can start and quit early if something better comes along. Everyone does it
Most of the service companies only agreed to interview because I said I can join them asap (that time I was not getting interviews from product companies). So any negotiation techniques?
In that case, join, earn some money and quit. Why delay
I’m not sure how it is for data analyst roles, but for software engineering roles in the past I’ve always had a policy of being honest with my recruiters and asking them to delay the offer deadline because I had final rounds with X company. Most of them have been totally understanding and flexible to move the deadline back, and for the ones who weren’t flexible it was just a quick and easy way to filter out red flags.
Which one did you joined?

Just say you will accept in a week. It's okay not to join after accepting. You can leave on the first day even if you join. It's completely normal
