Is it even possible? If yes, How long did it take you? I was born in a country that has a very small gc backlog and was considering following this route. Anyone in a similar position mind to share their story?
Absolutely possible. On L1 you can file your i140 where you get a priority date. It takes the same time as H1 for L1B (both get you to EB2 it EB3) L1A gets you to EB1 which is usually current for Green Card
1 year.
Thanks everyone 👍
L1a or b? Either is possible but with the latter you will have to get labour certification and this might take up to a year. After which you will file i-140

How common is it actually to earn more than 300K TC?
You have effectively 6yrs on L1 assuming you renew it once, so if you don't face a big backlog that should be lots of time. With no backlog GC takes around 1.5yr for most people (some faster) so add your country backlog wait time to that. If it's a really short backlog you can probably get it done before you even need to renew.
