Posting in behalf of a friend. My friend got offer from Amazon for the position of ACES manager job in India. She is currently working in TATA Motors (in similar kind of role) with an experience of 4.5 years. Package in TATA: 9 lacs (8 fixed + 1 variable) Offered by Amazon: 12 lacs She is offered L4 position. Being SDE, I don't have much idea about this role. Is she getting low balled? Is it possible for her to get L5 instead of L4 with 4.5 years of experience (she can't ask for L5 now as she is already selected for L4, but she can refuse this offer and apply again for L5 role)? #amazon #aces #operations #ops

Please Help :: Should I pursue CS Masters in USA or remain in India to join Startups?
Yes. She is getting low balled and it is very common for Amazon positions outside the US. Most of their Japan roles are L4 and they lowball people in the US as well. That way the bump between L4 to L5 stays at less than 10% your base rather than the 30-40% it would be if hired from outside.
