Currently an L6 IC in an #Aws sales role, tracking to an L7 promotion for Q3. I will have been at AWS nearly 3 years, and am thinking it could be an opportunity to evaluate market rate. Assuming I get the promotion, what should I target and expect for a comp bump, and how challenging will it be to negotiate this bump with the promotion? Currently at TC $385k with MBAs #aws #sales #tech

Is it still true that the high side of l6 is >500s?
It was 375 to 400k for new BDs hired as L6 this yr.
10% increase in Base pay and less than 10k in Cash bonus and rsu value. It will be the biggest disappointment of your life. You will on paper hit 425k but due to shitty stock value your TC will be close to 300-320k in actual next year. They will say they will make it up in 2024 April but no guarantees. They would still use the 15% higher stock price for the outer years and BS you with imaginary TC. How do I know this? I got promoted to L7 BD in Q3 this year and my TC was around 380k(pre drop)
In your experience do they typically make up the stock drop?
Just crazy that people are angry about making >$400,000 a year That is an insane amount of $$$ Stop looking at everyone else and think OMG I am making so much money with a pretty decent WLB
it is not that much in tech world
But it isn't 400k a year though? The RSU is vested over a period of time. Base pay + vested amount/bonus is what you get per year.
L7 easily gets 600-700k (in Google).
that’s true
