Hello - I have an interview scheduled for L7 TPM at Google Cloud team (NY). I had given the interview about 2 years back and the onsite consisted of 5 one hour interviews. @XMQa83 - Yes it’s a Leadership TPM role. They didn’t provide whether it is 1 or 2. I had similar experience previously too. I had mentioned that I will not be interested if the role less than L7. So hoping that they don’t down level. I had a bad experience being down leveled at AMZN, so will def not do that mistake.
At Google i think the swe level is different from TPM. So, TPM level at Google kind of matches Amazon’s level. PM 2- L4, PM 3-L5, Leadership/Senior 1 -L6, leadership/Senior 2-L7. SWE at Google: Senior is L5, Staff is L6

What’s your L7 AMZN TC expectations once you are promoted? YOE? Asking as that’s what Google bakes into their calculations while negotiating. L7TPM at Google in HCOL is 30- 40% higher (with front loading) than what you make right now. They have comp intel data from latest mkt research they did.
How is L6 Tpm different from L7 tpm in terms of roles, responsibilities?
L7 at AMZN usually has wider breadth and portfolio that spans multiple organizations. Complexity is higher and very highly ambiguous. Should be able to influence (without hierarchy) other organizations and sculpt roadmaps. Should be at ease to communicate with Andy -2 levels (L10s). L6 is mostly depth focused. Probably work with a few organizations but work on set of features /products that are a bit more clearly defined. Influencing within team. Mostly working with other L6 and L7 and rarely with L8s outside of their org.
Google L7 TPMs are a mixed bag. Some times you have sub 6 years folks with prior Event management 😂 experience who make L7 TPM (yes, there is UK based L7 TPM like that) Other times, you have 20+ years ppl who make L7 TPM.
The recruiter should usually walk you through the process? I assume there’s a 2nd after you pass
