I am interviewing for a L7 (tech leadership) position at HQ2. I have read some pretty high numbers for L7 (West Coast), granted East Coast number will not be anywhere close, what can I realistically expect in Virginia? I was with a Tier 1 Consulting firm for 14 years, and joined Cap around 2 years back. Primary reason to move is that I don't want to continue in Consulting anymore. Current TC is $200K. Does it have a bearing on what they might offer and more importantly can I chose not to disclose it? Is targeting $400K+ too far fetched? Thank you for any tips and advise! #amazon #amazoncompensation
Tech leadership is so vague. Which role is it? L7 SDE is very different form L7 PM-T.
800k
Sounds really good :) but don't see this happening in Virginia.
Thank you all for the responses. Salesforce - The position is specifically for the Virginia office so can't start with Seattle option. Airbnb - Would it be too odd to ask them for the offer and not give numbers from my side? Google - Can't disclose much, but the position is to setup a niche tech org for one of their business unit.
Thank you
if you pass the L7 SDM interview, you can definitely ask them >$600K . They would do it.
Thank you.
Quick update...had couple rounds of interview, and the last one was with L8 who told me that they will reach out to me by the end of (last) week. Didn't hear back anything, so I reached out to the recruiter earlier this week asking if I was still being considered. It's been 3 days and no response. My last call was more than a week back. There's a chance they are evaluating other candidates and waiting, but felt weird that the recruiter didn't respond at all after I went so far in the interview process. Thoughts?
For Amazon, if it is a no, they typically let you know within a week or so. If it goes longer, they could be waiting to see how other candidates pan out. Did you hear back?
You should start with Seattle HQ then transfer, 400k tc is at lower band of L7 in sea.
