I have an opportunity to go back to Tesla (where I interned previously) or enter management consulting as a new grad. My current thought is I already tried Tesla and had lots of fun/success; however, now I can try management consulting given the opportunity (always was curious about trying consulting). If I don't like consulting, I could always go back to Tesla or try another company. Please comment your thoughts if you can, thanks! #tech #consulting #tesla #deloitte #offer #life Edit: Don't want to get caught up chasing clout. Edit: Changed post from Tech to Management Consulting group for additional thoughts.
Is it Deloitte S&O? If not, this is an easy layup for Tesla. Hell, even if it is Deloitte S&O, unless you already have a decent network and partner constellation at Deloitte you’re essentially rolling the dice on the quality of projects you’ll get put on (and the ones you’ll get staffed on will be the ones the well-networked analysts didn’t want).
Management consulting - solutions engineering
“solutions engineering” sounds like a tech role. If it’s not S&O (edit: _specifically_ strategy and operations, like that is the specific role and practice you are being offered, and you have a strong network within that practice), I’d go with Tesla. Edit: Your next step from Deloitte should be an M7 MBA, and it is much more difficult doing that from a non-S&O role without blue-chip (I.e. growth strategy, digital transformation) projects.
Lmao. Are you trolling? You already have experience at Accenture so you should know consulting is bullshit.
Haha actually no because Accenture is a very heavy tech role so not sure if things change where more strategy is involved. One is city living and the other is living near Tahoe. So also thinking about life outside of work ya know?
Lmao “accenture is a heavy tech role” 🤦♂️
Uhh dude, dnt make a big mistake. Take tesla.
Could you explain ?
You'll make like twice your net worth by going with tesla throughout ur career. (Idk if twice but a lot more) If u hate money, then go with Deloitte.
At least put efforts into trolling
Tesla. You can retire in about 10 years with your stock appreciation. The 2021-2030 decade belongs to whoever helps transition to sustainable energy.
That's what I was thinking as well. However, what's the point of making all the money if you may not have the WLB to enjoy it at the moment? Not saying Big4 has better WLB btw.
Tesla is known for rapidly building real, tangible and popular products. Even if the money was the same at both, I feel like you'd learn more from how things are done there.
Take it from a middle aged person in consulting- you are far better off going to Tesla. If I could only turn back time and do this all over again...
Deloitte management consulting is not McKinsey or BCG, so if you had fun at Tesla then go there.
What is wrong with you??? Tesla ! I’m an investor and own one. Phenomenal company.
If you can get the top 3 (Bain, BCG, Mck) maybe. Even then tech is probably better. Deloitte is not selective at all. Also tech has a better lifestyle and exit opportunities.
BCG alumnus here, concur.
What about AWS consulting?
