does any one have any insights about the leveling in Nextdoor? The recruiter told me they started recently using flat titles across the org, i.e. no senior/staff title. I wonder how L3,L4,L5 there maps to the leveling in other companies.
The flat titles are great. We all just work together on projects instead of worrying about rank. Your level is private between you and your manager. Feel free to DM if you have any questions.
Feel free to correct me on this: 1,2 -> junior 3 -> mid level, able to work independently 4 -> senior, able to lead projects 5,6 -> staff/architect
That’s what I figured. Thanks! What is your perspective about Nextdoor?
I've enjoyed working here. The company's expanding so there's room to grow. Great culture in product/engineering.
We used to call 3 a senior, and have seen some at level 3 leading projects.
3+ is senior actually
