I currently live in a country where the only means of doing freelancing is via registering an LLC, but it's enough to be the owner to work, so there is no direct employment contract between my own company and myself. Does that count as experience when applying to US companies (eg: if they ask for work history), and would it be valid for meeting the requirements of EB2/EB3 visas? I've been freelancing for several big companies for the past 4 years using this LLC, and it only dawned on me now that it might become a problem.
You're specifically looking for whether this qualifies for US immigration, right? Of course it does qualify for YOE for the levelling for the companies themselves.
Most concerned about the immigration aspect, yeah. I have had companies reject me based on my work registry history saying I was unemployed for the period, but I expect this isn't an issue in companies that aren't deliberately obtuse.
Of course it's valid experience, just be sure you don't break any NDAs when disclosing the projects you worked on.
