Why did Silicon Valley swing hard right?
just a general wondering. what's the community's opinion on the current company that I am working for , which is Micron Technology. YOE 8 TC: 150k
Pay sucks just like any other HW companies...
This is so true! The only way I see people surviving in places like WD and Micron is through playing politics. Ex-WD employee here btw.
I was at WD before not too long ago. Most of the people from WD already jumped to Micron. I can only imagine that these people will ruin everything at Micron with their politics. Also almost 90% of the people I know who jumped ship somehow ended with a high management role even though they were ICs at WD. Not to mention, they all went to the same managers/teams at Micron that they were in at WD.
I heard Micron is a top payer in the HW industry? Is this true?
I know that for some people that they lured away from WD, they paid big bucks. Specially if they were from WD memtech or the Flash product group (basically most people from WD Milpitas). But I don’t think in general their pay is any higher than the rest of the industry.
I don't think so. I have seen a lot of people moving out of the company. I am not talking about the offices in bay area, but in Idaho and utah
Are you in Bay Area or Boise?
Not in Bay area
I have a friend in WD who has good things to say - like good people from WD jump ship to micron.
Wow. That's good to hear. Also, if you don't mind me asking, Was that from pre-Sanjay era or post?
