I am 34 year old man who been unemployed for 1 year. I've network, made connects, interviewed with Red Hat etc etc, done Cyber Security bootcamp/Devops Udacity programs that put me close to $10k in debt. At the end of the day, I was not able to get a job. I have decided going back to school at ASU to get my second Bachelor's in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. End goal is to get Masters Degree in Data Science. My first bachelor is in Technology Management which no one ever heard of that degree program. Imma try to get my tuition all paid through scholarships. I can use my grave disease illness to get as much as scholarships as possible. The idea going back to school is build a strong foundation in software developer and date science. Also, I want to explore different fields in machine learning, Cyber Security or any other industry where I can apply my foundation in real world experience through internships or research programs. My question are: 1. How I can build a strong foundation in software development/Software Engineer while in school? 2. If you can start over again, what programs/courses at University level you wish you took to help you build stronger foundation in problem-solving? 3. The programming language I decided to focus is Python and C++ because I can apply these languages in Penetration Testing, Security Engineer, Devops, Machine learning and Django Web Development. What your best approach to master Python? Then, C++ programming language if you could start over again? 4. Which undergraduate programs I should major that can put me better position for opportunities in internships, full-time positions or research?
Hats off to you OP. You are very courageous.
Wait you get scholarships for graves? I didn't understand why? Full disclosure I have graves also plus other autoimmune disease so just trying to learn what I've been missing. #nojudgeinthisJudy

Programmers are the smartest people in the world
Bro not sure you really need a CS degree perse. The classes will help but I think the career resources will help you leverage prior experience. You should be studying young college coeds at ASU
That another reason going back to school and having "student" occupation so I can leverage ASU career resources to help me land internships or research. But I do want to get my second Bachelor's in technical field specifically in software development
You should talk to ASU's staff. You might not need to do full degree course to get access to career services.
