Currently senior software at RedHat, I have an offer from Datadog for senior software role for a security team, Position is hybrid, it seems that they are not hiring fully remote anymore, I am based in EMEA, rest of the team is US based. Current TC 73 + 15% bonus Offer TC: 90k + 120k/4 RSU
You can push for more base and rsus in france
That’s not enough of a comp bump to change jobs IMO. If you think the DataDog job will be better for other reasons, then perhaps take it, but I would want more of a cash comp bump to jump ship and start fresh (with the risk that comes with it…). If you really want to leave RH, I’d probably fish for better offers. Or if you’re good, push for a principal promo and then jump for more comp.
Datadog.
Which part of EU? Looks lower for a senior.
Looks like a good bump… Datadog: Base + stock = 120,000 euro annually Red Hate Base + bonus = 83,950
Use the offer and get RH to match
Tried it, but got a kind of reject/postpone RH cant match as the company is facing tuff times
Datadog has not had lay off's or pay freezes Datadog is offering you a 17% increase on the base and around 30% on package? RH does not pay the cash of a senior or any stock? RH is telling you that they can't afford to raise you to a decent salary even when you say you will leave? 15% of your cash is relying on a bonus in a company that has lay offs and has told you they are facing tuff times? You work for IBM / RH so cash is not good and you have no stock? Datadog is decent with pay reviews on base and stock I advise you stay because you must love your job ;)
Given the current state of the market this is a very good increase in TC. I know a few people working at Datadog and they have nothing but positive things to say about the company. IMO this is a very good offer
No brainer re total direct comp - Datadog is the clear choice. Very competitive offer generally speaking even. I have a few friends in Datadog and they have all reported nothing but good things. Challenging projects, clear career paths and room to grow, fantastic culture.
No knowledge of Datadog, but what I'm hearing about Red Hat not matching this offer as well as your apparent lack of RSU awards (Red Hat can easily give that match routinely) leads me to believe your management chain views you at an average performer (or worse). Red Hat is definitely on a path to reward top performers more than ever, and would happily lose those rated as average, so I would either leave or try to position myself as a top contributor.
Or he’s in a location where RedHat doesn’t have to pay well

People are saying Datadog probably because of TC. This is blind.
