Curious about BINDG. They said 4 days on-site :/ for the tax provision team. Any insight into the company/team and how WLB is? Base was much higher than I expected but with a very low bonus and no RSUs. #swe #software #engineering #bloomberg #bloombergindg BINDG TC: $220k (200 base + 10% bonus)
Just note the TP team is on fire. Literally 3 years into 6 month rewrite. Good luck.
Can you access Bloomberg offices in NY?
😳😳 you have more info?
It is good that base is high, you ll get it monthly. You dont have to wait till end of the year for big amount
Is it the same at LP?
Check levels.fyi. LP engineers make a pretty penny compared INDG!
I'm interested in updates as well! At Bloomberg LP right now and planning to move to the DMV area this year. Please update here with your experience / recommendations!
Are you working at LP in the DC office?
Currently in the NYC office, planning to move to DC/VA in the fall. Starting the job hunt now, but I imagine going over to INDG is easier. Assuming that the culture/benefits/compensation/etc are worth it, of course
Yeah that’s a great offer tbh for this place. BLP def gets paid a lottt more ( makes sense cause they’re in NYC and they’re the parent company). Also Bloomberg is a private company so there’s no RSUs. Pay progression is rough here too. Their raises this year were really bad. I think that team is having some tough times. But I don’t know much. WLB will vary from team to team. But there are some teams that face a lot of deadlines and scrutiny from people above. And they’re probably gonna go full RTO sometime in the future.
Full RTO + bad pay progression is a rough combo... do you have any insight in to what the starting pay range is for 6 YOE? I'm at LP right now and making 268 TC (215 base, 53 bonus), so I'm looking for 240 TC jobs in the DMV area to meet the same after a ~10% COL adjustment.
Tough to gauge. From what I can tell. I am close to 5 YOE making 165 base ( I’m on the lower end since I came in 2-3 years ago) and it’s standard for engineers to take home a 10% bonus. I know some folks who came in later than me and have the same YOE as me with a 170-180 base. With a year plus than me I’d give maybe 195 to be your high base range and a 10% bonus. I feel like it all depends too on your experience and how you negotiate! AWS, and palantir might get you to where you looking for. Cap 1 maybe… they’re in the same ball park as INDG
Good tech, poor management vision, cash to burn. High level
Are you talking about BBG or BBG INDG?
Pretty spot on ^. Solid tech since INDG uses AWS like crazy
