Data scientist Facebook TC
I have read in another thread that some people were saying the data scientist TC at Facebook is low compared to SWE. Can anyone confirm? Is it lower than what shows up on levels.fyi? for info: E4: 245K E5: 365K If lower, what are the average numbers for E4 and E5? thanks

Facebook data science is a generic term for a lot of different teams, it's a mess. TC varies from same as SWE to less than half.
I see... How should I bring up these with the recruiter who contacted me without sounding too greedy? I don’t wanna waste my time and their time applying to a job that pays less than my current one...
If you're currently and Eng, chances are the recruiter is talking to you about data science role that pays the same as Eng. You can always clarify matters "Hey I'm an engineer here, want to understand how/where this role fits into the fb org". That should tell you all you need to know.

Base tends to be similar across the two families, but equity tends to be only 50-60% of SWE equity.
So this seems to show also people who wrote « ML/AI » which might be machine learning engineers, and I know their pay is the same as SWE
