Lacking Direction In Career

Keeping it short, I am kinda confused about naively understanding my career progression as a software engineer with 1 YOE (Masters in CS) (Full Stack Engineer, life depends on Typescript here) Stuff that I have figured out: I like the streaming or mass media communication kind of technologies or understanding the engineering behind these platforms (the stuff at Twitch, Discord, Hulu, Netflix, Roblox, Slack, etc.) Definitely inclined towards the backend (especially APIs, DB, and Distributed Systems scaling). But backend in itself is huge and having researched across quite a few companies I really wanna work for, it's ambiguous what they expect or how do I reveal my interests to the hiring managers (and cover up my peanuts years of experience). I can go ahead and learn and implement a bunch of stuff, just not sure if the time spent will be worth it to reach the target. Chasing higher TC is definitely a thing, but I wanna be a little cautious about the workplace I pick next (I love my current work team and day-to-day engineering, but what we build is not used at scale and not really challenging my skills). Curious to know if blinders got any career suggestions and take the advantage of this community? hiring managers usually overlook lack of large scale system experience for entry level roles. It’s definitely a red flag for experienced backend engineer. Just focus on leetcode and gtfo to some companies where you can get an opportunity to work on distributed system.
