For those Amazonians affected by layoffs, how are you doing now? Have several colleagues struggling a lot in this market, while others were able to quickly find offers. On one end of the spectrum, have friends with competing offers in hand, and on the other end, know of people applying for 8-12 months until they landed a new role. TC π
What are the sources for job search that is helping people get multiple offers?
Just apply as much as possible on LinkedIn jobs
I wasn't laid off, I quit on my own but it was easy to find a new job, some people keep their TC expectations too high and don't apply to places they think pay less. But even those interviews prepared me for companies paying better later on. 1.5 months of Leetcode prep, 0.5 month of resume prep and applying to companies, one month of non-stop interviews with 2-3 day breaks here and there. Had 5 offers within 3 months from quitting. This was in summer though, I think it's slightly tougher now. TC remained the same 290k -> 290k without having the deal with the bullshit of Amazon. I'm 5+ YOE so it was easier. I can see that it could be harder for less than 5 YOE.
