Laid-off FAANG Product Management folks, what you up to

Laid off FAANG Product management folks, what you up to? Leave comments for everyone's benefit, what was your path to finding a role if applicable. How long at FAANG before you got laid-off. I am still looking and getting rejects everywhere for the last 6+ months. But, I am also targeting senior level roles (Dir+).

not laid off - but i’d probably would cast a wide net for roles in marketing/sales/product or even ops just to get something then continue to apply apply apply for the roles that I want. But that strategy was probably much easier back in covid, now I’m unsure if it would work.

Agree but there is enough competition in adjacent areas as well. Also, once you are in a role makes it harder to do heads down job search.

It would be a struggle for sure

Laid off and found a ic role (was ppl manager before) but without any pay cut. And also just getting started joining a startup to work on the side. So overall positive but I won’t recommend this to anyone. Folks who write on blind they will take voluntary layoff are sadomasochists. I had saved enough and was able to get another job by the time the severance ran out. I had a little more runway but the stress and hit on self confidence is gut wrenching. Luckily most companies I talked to did not consider layoff as a negative but I do agree leadership positions in product are quite les. Lastly, there’s so much competition and hiring managers have so much choice - myself and other cases I found folks were skipping candidates because of trivial issues in interviews.
