TCS generally sends people back to India instead of laying off. Not sure what happened in your case
I was hired here in the US only after my MS and I got my H1B with TCS. Recently TCS is trying to layoff people who are on bench with no projects so the same happened with me. Now I’m looking for new opportunities.
Oh yea local hires are employed by TCS America. The ones transferred from India get sent back if they can’t find a project
