I had a call a few weeks ago for an AVP role with JPMC, 120K with a 10% bonus. I told them that was extremely off from my expectaions experience etc. I asked since the position is extremely specialized from the tech standpoint, if they could make it a VP - since from my past experiences with JPMC and what friends have told me - they will do that based on the business needs. I’m currently at 79/hr as. FTE, with health ins, limited PTO and a non matching 401k. Not sure what salary I should target. Outside of Dallas by the way.
Yeah, titles don't cost them anything but they're hassle to change once you're in so push for it even if same money. Even just for bragging rights.
I recently went from $87/hr to $175k tc in NYC.
2080 x 87 = 181k which means you took a 4% pay cut. 2080 x 79 = 164k which means I should expect in the ballpark of 157/158
At the $87/hr job I wasn't getting a 401k match (8.5% now) and PTO (4 weeks). The health insurance is much cheaper and better as well. I also get $12k towards any housing purchase (can you tell that I'm not with BNYM anymore yet, lol)
$155k seems reasonable enough to me. Banks have been low-balling in NYC now. $120k is all Citi is offering for VPs.
Are you talking to their recruiter or a contracting agency? I would just interview then negotiate after. They don’t understand your value yet, since you haven’t interviewed.
It’s an actual recruiter with JPMC.
