Anyone here from Latitude AI? I think they are targeting L3 automation. How are the CV/ML teams related to Perception and are most of the folks from Argo? Also how is the compensation structured; if it’s base + bonus + equity, how is the equity given? Is it in terms of Ford stocks or is it just paper money? T.C: 360K

The man I love hates me because I’m Vietnamese
Latitude is great atm. It's like Argo with much better leadership.
I am from the perception team and I agree with what has been said above. Really nice, talented folks. Most of them can get a job elsewhere at the same level.
How is the pay compared to cruise?
What I heard is TC at Latitude is similar to Argo with the main difference being equity is Ford stocks and not paper money. Cruise TC has gone down significantly this year; I feel TC at Latitude AI now will be at par (+/-10%) with Cruise. Perhaps insiders can chip in with more details.
Cash compensation is similar. Ford equity is modest/moderate but tangible. Cruise offers high equity grants and backs them up with their yearly buyback offers. The problem is that they can decide at any point to not continue buying back equity, and right now is sort of make or break time so... You trade off risk for compensation.
Did argo stock get converted to ford stock for the people who joined directly
No. Argo stock expired worthless. We were all issued new Ford stock; it is very competitive with FAANG. Plus a nice dividend.
Whats dividend ?
Hey can someone please refer me to embedded/firmware roles at Latitude AI?
I'd like to get back into tracking and sensor fusion. I'm currently in a localization team for the last 6 years (kalman filters, registration, visual odometry) and ~2 years prior to that obstacle tracking and sensor fusion for L2 AV. Of the two, I really enjoyed tracking. The problem is the flavor of tracking and sensor fusion we did is 2D and is pretty rudimentary as it was mostly used in research and testing. Had to create a kalman filter for short range radar, other than that, the devices had their own tracking. Basically our obstacle tracker is hand rolled SRR tracker, and basically fusion of SRR/LRR/MobilEye. Plans for LIDAR but never started. Fusion arbitration was really just a handful of hard coded rules. The point is our tracker was limited in scope. I'm sure if the design had product intent, we would have hardened it. Had to move into localization as tracking responsibilities moved to Israel (perception/planning). Would I have a shot getting in to tracking or play it safe and stick with localization?
It could be possible. Usually the interviews are pretty in depth on the technical knowledge for the domain, and on programming ability. If you know your stuff and are a strong programmer, there is a definite possibility. I would be sure to express this to the recruiter.
@hermiticon I am planing to apply for a position in Perception team, could you advise how can I prepare for the coding test? Thank you!
I’m from Latitude - the CV/ML teams are really really good. The folks from Argo are largely high end. Comp is base bonus equity and a cash portion. So the part that would normally be equity at big tech is half equity half cash. It’s Ford stock, it’s liquid. I can’t imagine leaving, it’s the best place I’ve ever worked.
Thanks for the details, I will likely interview for a Perception related role. I interviewed with Argo for a similar role few years back and a couple of the members of Perception team are with Latitude AI now. How is the overall WLB at Latitude? Is it similar to that of Argo? If I understand correctly TC is base + bonus + equity (which is a mix of cash and Latitude equity). Am I correct here? Also can the TC be similar to Argo? If so, for mid-senior level roles (ICT4 at Apple, L5/E5 at Google/Meta), TC will be at par or quite close. For example, can TC (base + bonus + equity) equivalent to L5 role range around 350K - 375K?
WLB is good. I work 40 hours a week. Leadership regularly emphasizes the importance of working hard in a sustainable way. Equity is Ford stock, there is no special Latitude equity. Fully liquid. TC is competitive with FAANG. That TC target is absolutely achievable, especially with strong interview performance.
