So I turned to social media and it makes me feel a lot better. I’m honestly like so much happier. I created a private IG account, no followers, only following the content I want to watch. Only getting fed on things I chose to watch. Also, it’s easier to compare oneself when people are close to you so I just channel it outwardly to people that has zero possibility of meeting up. There’s simply no competition there. Never felt jealous of people’s traveling stories or friends hangout cause I don’t know them. It’s not like “I could have had it if I were to choose the same path.” Im simply happy for them. Weird. Is this bad when I’m creating a new reality for myself? Disconnecting with the old communities and watching the rest of the world progressing without my involvement whatsoever. #mentalhealth
I get overly invested in fictional stories to feel better ignoring reality also... Mine just take the form of books about dragons.
Your approach works if you're looking for inspirations or wanna explore things. Still, social medias are built to connect people. Considering using them to nurture relationships.
Blind gives an illusion that everyone is making 500K and everyone is getting fired. This is a bubble. If you step away from blind and do your work, go home, you will be fine. Social platform detox.
Layoffs have been happening for as long as there has been capitalism. You might feel alone, but it’s one of the most common plights of the western worker. There’s a reason they call it “golden handcuffs”; you’re tied to a company that owes zero allegiance in return. https://www.businessinsider.com/google-layoffs-15-years-golden-handcuffs-holding-me-back-2023-2
