Hi , I am thinking of joining Nvidia in coming weeks. Hearing about hiring pause and layoff of some recruiting staff. Want to get opinion of community if it’s good to join. What is going on ? Thanks
Nv doesn't do layoffs. Ppl tell me even in 2008 there were no layoffs.
Just happened, look at LinkedIn
Where?
There are no layoffs. Companies that are laying off don’t give extra RSUs to new joinees to compensate for the reduction in stock price.
Coinbase did that. Nvidia is safe however.
What I am reading are recruiting coordinators whose contract was cut short…anything else you guys know
Hiring has slowed to a trickle. Recruiters who are contractors - it’s not surprising their contracts were not renewed. That’s what I’ve heard.
What org/role?
Graphics Org, DV role IC 5
Hop on. It's a great place to be at
No layoffs that I’m aware of. Not saying it won’t happen but Nvidia leadership takes a refreshingly long term outlook that makes layoffs quite rare.
We're still hiring but only outstanding candidates. Our team has 3 offers that just went out the door.
If OP has an offer he should not worry, in the current situation it means he’s for sure an outstanding candidate.
Does nvidia have pip?
OP pay the blind tax please. What is current TC and new TC at NV? And YOE?

With crypto fallout … nvidia will likely to fallout soon after recession start… no one has crystal ball…
We hardly depend on crypto. Gaming, gpu businesses are now a part of the nvda revenue stream not the only stream of revenue.
