Are news about Layoffs at GoPuff true? Saw some posts on Reddit ( https://www.reddit.com/r/GoPuff/ ) Have a call with one of their recruiters for an SDE interview next week. Is the whole thing going puff? Blind tax: 240k #gopuff

Wow are there layoffs ? But they were on hiring spree ?
Yeah I find it to be a very odd situation. I’m completely perplexed at their valuation…business model doesn’t make sense to me and requires huge cap-ex. It looks they are 1. Cutting warehouse hours/workers 2. Cutting recruiting—other functions are likely next if they don’t turn the ship around. What I suspect happened based on the Reddit posts is that their giant expansion push into a bunch of new markets hit a huge wall and now they’re panicking because the numbers aren’t anywhere near what they’d or investors had envisioned. Hiring push and expansion was happening concurrently…too late now as they fail to hit escape velocity in key markets so they’re shifting to cost cutting mode. Also had DD quickly scale up to compete.
