There have been many news about layoffs in the tech industry. I’m wondering if MBB consulting firms will face the same problem in the potential recession? I just started as a DS solution analyst at an MBB firm. Having heard the recent news, should I be worried about being laid off? TC: £50k YOE: <1 year #layoffs #consulting #dataanalytics
Data is a dead end career. Switch to software engineering
Lmao
Well, software engineering exists to collect process and make sense of data. If data is not important then neither is software. Arguably data is more important and visible as it is closer to point of decision-impcat.
The whole economy will be affected. Nowhere to run.
Well, 1) layoffs in tech industry is real 2) MBB DS solution is not really tech. So you are safe
Footnote: MBB DS solution potentially supports all ranges of industry the MBB clients have. Could be oil and gas, telco, mining, Pharma, government etc etc. So technically you are not really in tech industry
Footnote2: having said that, economy is a macro thing, everyone is affected in a way. So you are not really safe either. 😄
Nah… we are desperately hiring.. don’t worry
With this TC does it make a difference? It could be your blessing in disguise to force you to look for a decent paying job.
This is he highest paying offer unfortunately 🥲
MBB is supposed to be paying well. An Internet search shows entry level salaries around 120k. How is it that yours is way below? Are you an intern or something.
