Why dont they just pay less to actors and movie shows. Would save way more than firing 7000employees that way
Most actors or production staff actually donβt make all that muchβ itβs just the fame from being in show-business is what they get. However, agree that a disproportionate few in acting/production do take in a disproportionately high amount of the earnings and reducing that could lead to greater good ! Have no clue what many of these ppl (some exceptions) are really contributing to society to deserve being compensated that way.
Yes agree with you. Thats what I wonder there societal contribution is shit and some earn so much in just a single that a well educated person at a high paying job wont be able to earn in whole life
@expedia: farmers, nurses and firefighters could say the same for most of us in tech

Probably
Did they say how long till they finalize layoffs?
Nope
May the odds, ever be in your favor.
So we just show up to work as if 7000 of us aren't going to be gone in a few months

Gut punch. Eagerly and anxiously awaiting the fate of my team and myself. It's a bittersweet feeling to be on the edge of being laid off or not. I feel for all of my colleagues and peers because not only did we achieve our goals with data to back the results we also spent an average of 50-60hrs per week to achieve these goals. No matter who you are, as an employee you're investing your time and mental health into the work you produce. Just some simple math to show how callous these layoffs are irrespective of company: - 24 hours in a day; 7 days a week = 168 total hours in a week - we need 6-8 hours to sleep, 7 days * 7 hours of sleep average = 49 hours - work an average of 10hrs per day 5 days per week = 50 hours - 100 hours for sleep and work out of 168 The numbers show we spend 1/3 of our life sleeping, 1/3 at work and 1/3 with family, friends, gym, self care etc So if 30% of your existence is based on you being an employee, doesn't that mean we are entitled to get the treatment we deserve from these companies in times of hardships? Especially, if the CEO is making $40m+ and flys in private jets and yachts on a Tuesday
I'm unsure how it all plays out but there's a spreadsheet separated by Onsite, Hybrid-Flex and Remote. From what I saw there's a lot of red on the latter two. I was on the sheet and was notified that I should start scheduling KTs and everything. Iβm P4 and been remote my entire time at Disney.
