Layoffs above L6 do not happen at Amazon mostly L6 and below worker are fired generally L6 and below goats are always on fire.. While L7 and above forever frozen in Amazon ice nobody can fire them Even some L7 I see walking arround in style of Bozo aka compete shaven head and principles tattooed all over body.. How can Bozo fire Bozo clone .. Noway
Uhhh what??
Not true. All levels, performance is all that will keep you employed.
Not true.
Not true at all. By design, l7 and under can come under layoffs. L8 and up, they give them jobs that no one wants and hope they leave. One l8 lady from ops was moved to a site lead (l7) job in a remote place, hoping she will just leave. She took it 🤣🤣
None yet, last evening ads team was impacted. Chatters are happening in AWS and this time even segment leaders are unaware on the list. There was a question raised to an L8 last week openly and answer is completely based on cost and not on performance. I think only time can tell on who and which team is being impacted. Lastly, ProServe is also in lime light.
As in, ProServe will be hit hard? Wouldn’t be surprising, given how dry ProServe sales pipelines are right now.
I know of a friend who got laidoff in Germany last week. (L4 probation)
Hi, Sorry for your friend. I am also on same boat, L5 and probation :( Could you please ask your friend regarding following info ? Very much appreciated A. Any severance package given ? If yes, how much? B. Your friend belongs to which organization? ADs, Sales, PXT or Aws ? Thanks a lot friend. These are testing times :(
Hey man! No severance during probation and yeah ‘AWS’
They all got a new L8 recently. So that means getting rid of 10 more low level drones

Please Help :: Should I pursue CS Masters in USA or remain in India to join Startups?
No one knows unless your L8 is here and he wants to speak up.
I don’t think people get that only Director level and up know anything before hand.
Even then, L8’s only know a very limited amount of info. A now-ex Google VP posted on LinkedIn that he was part of the group that created the layoff plan for his org; layoff day came and he woke up to his access being cut off. He got axed too and was given no clue it was coming, even though he was ‘in on’ the plans.
