The dreadful layoffs have been going on in Tech for a while now. Those who have been laid off are now applying to banks and fintech hoping that the finance sector can help. But I am worried that soon banks/fintech might also start laying off. What do you think? Have you heard anything from Directors/Managing Directors about layoffs in finance?#layoff Tax: 200k
You all are screwed as well. The whole world is gonna layed off. π€¦πΌββοΈ Jus save the FUD dude and live your life. If something like that were to happen there is nothing you can do. So live your day with happiness rather than FUD
We've had no official mass layoffs planned. Coincidentally strong push for RTO so who can say. Have heard of at least a handful people being laid off over the last month or so. Not many but not zero.
Finance is very safe. No risk of layoffs in BofA, Chase and Barclays.
Have you heard anything about it from MD or any senior folks?
I feel like there are 27 Buy Now Pay Later companies out there. Bound to be some consolidation
Spoke with my manager and current status for my teams are to keep same headcount. But thatβs always subject to change and ymmv
No layoffs but RTO and lower bonuses, as expected
No layoffs with a fortress balance sheet. But get your ass to an office. And we're not backfilling any resignations so enjoy working double. And eat peanuts for your bonus!!! π Good times..
As long as unemployment rate is not high, mortgages won't be defaulted and banks can benefit from higher interest rates. But I'm not sure if Brandon and Fed can do a soft landing.
