Hey future hiring EM. I have 11 yoe. I'm burnt the fuck out from the people bullshit. I'm done leading teams, managing devs and turning nothing into something. I want grunt IC work where I can finish the entire sprint on Monday and be lazy the remainder of the week. I don't want promotions or more TC. I just want to get whatever shit you need done and hang out with my kid. I work well on my own. Don't need hand holding. Must be remote. 180k salary and I'm happy. Msg me about your team and product. US citizen no visa needed. TC: too much.
Is Google not good for coasting anymore?
I think I was unlucky and now most teams are locked down
same
What is the lowest comp you're willing to take?
I said 180 but that is bs
Now be realistic :)
This sounds amazing, tbh
Allow me to introduce you to the insurance industry (not really, I have to pay to message people on here bc I've gotten flagged too many times so DM someone else) But insurance TC is 🥜 and they are unwilling to pay any more, so the only trick they have up their sleeve is offering remote (which they do). If you get on the right team then you can coast and nobody will notice because of the bureaucracy. Avoid areas using sexier tech though, they work hard and coasters are noticed. Work at a mutual company so your leadership isn't pressured to meet some silly quarterly earnings estimate, and you will never get laid off. Work at a company with a pension and coasting is rewarded (probably why mine no longer offers one).
Pretty accurate except it took multiple years for my insurtech employer to notice my coasting
Yeah but that's insurtech, I'm just talking about traditional insurance companies with Dilbert tier corporate culture in some or all areas, senior executive associate vice president directors, and non-technical management
Same here.. pass on the team info, if you happen to find one..
Even if you spend 10 hours a week coding at this dream job, Every place will fill your time with nonsense meetings. You will hate that life worse.
Financial Services might be of interest to you. Cash cows that are recession proof since payment network/credit card companies take a % of transactions.
You need to post this on linkedin for a nice change of pace
Are you me?
Me you are
No, actually me except for the Google part
