On behalf of everyone: 1) Stop making us make a stupid application for every company that we apply to. Why can’t you just save our information? 2) Stop making us write out our resume AFTER we uploaded the resume What the hell are yoy guys doing there? TC: 230k
I don’t mind making the accounts and filling out the resume information fields but what pisses me off is that if I apply to multiple jobs to the same company, I need to fill in my ethnicity, h1b or citizen, disability, or veteran status on every application. None of this is going to change between applications so why can’t Workday save this on my profile?
So, something like this has been proposed for tenant agnostic Workday users because we do understand it is a better user experience. Our existing design is rooted in the fact that each tenant owns their own data and it is not insignificant effort technically or legally (contracts etc). You just have to understand it is very hard to prioritize. 1. The companies that pay us for our software have absolutely zero (and maybe negative) incentive to make it easier for you to apply to other companies, so they want other features prioritized over this. Thus, management limits scope for work that will get us to what you proposed. 3. At some point, there were also potential legal concerns around auto-filling regulatory forms for users, especially because sometimes information CAN change. Citizenship status, disability status, and veteran status can all possibly get changed, especially if your account sat stale for a while between applications. I don’t actually believe this is a blocker, but just some insight into where some of that time has been spent along with the 1st point.
1. But why do I have to make an account? 2. Why is the parsing of data so trash. I often have to change things since it wasn’t properly parsed from my resume. Lever and greenboard do a much better job. Both of the points add friction, meaning less people apply, meaning you have a lower tier of talent that would of otherwise applied. Over time, the number of people who chose not to apply because of all of this could be significant. This is not good for companies who pay workday money.
You need to understand that Workday does whatever companies which pay us money ask. Regular users are not our customers cz they don’t pay us anything. Shouldn’t blame Workday, blame the company you are applying to.
I would totally pay workday to treat me as a valued customer.
So the company also asked u to make resume parse system so terrible to use? LMAO. even greenboard and lever has a better system
What the hell are we doing? We are creating features for the companies that pay us with multi-million dollar contracts, not random people on Blind exhibiting the Dunning–Kruger effect on something they don’t have a clue about. Like someone else implied, the design is rooted in a tenant-centric approach, meaning each candidate is uniquely created for each customer and cannot be shared because companies don’t want to share what they consider to be “their data” with other companies. They have no incentive to make it easier for you to apply to other companies.
Good luck in your next job hunting when applying through your own dog food
Yeah, because every developer works on every aspect of the vast product. Good luck yourself. Clearly you haven’t been working long if you don’t remember the state of job applications before Workday lol
Also are y'all eating my info for your biased ML engine?
It's not workday. It's the company you are applying to. They don't want to share your info with other companies. You are confusing workday with indeed. 2. Companies don't want to pay for that feature as they don't care or deliberately making it difficult.
