Got a R&D offer from Ansys.. Base:120k Sign on:10k Rsus: 10k vested over 3 years 🥜 Relocation: Signon bonus to be used for relocation 🥜🥜🥜 Location: Pittsburgh Experience: 1.5 years Highest Education: Phd How does this offer look like for Ansys? I am negotiating on the Rsus, sign on bonus and relocation. What would be a decent ask? TC: 210k (HCOL) #Ansys
What level of your R&D role? Your current TC is 210k, I won't consider accepting the offer at Ansys if I were you.
I am not being told the level of the position. All I know is its a R&D Engineer II role. My current TC is in a HCOL area.
Ansys has offices in SoCal and bay area. You may want to take a look, not even even close to your current TC given your credentials (degree & yoe) To be bloody honest, if I were you, unless I absolutely hate my current job, otherwise I won't even consider Ansys and moving to this boring town.
Looks like a typical ansys salary.
I think you could get 10k more on RSUs & 10k more on sign on/relocation. Anything other than including higher base would depend on how much they really need you. Also, 150k TC is probably around 300k+ in HCOL like the bay area
How’s the morale with the acquisition? I would be worried to join until I see how that plays out.
I haven't noticed too much difference in morale. Good possibility someone kills the acquisition given recent events. Personally I'm ready for layoffs in some form but not a ton of overlap so hard to say how they'll approach it. Over a year out either way, but you're right I wouldnt join right now with the uncertainty.

Can I retire by 2025?
Ask for more base too. I'd be cautious with the upcoming acquisition. I think Ansys will hire fresh PhDs at 120.
Thanks for the comment. Would you know whats a good rsu ask for ansys? The location is in Canonsburg
