I am a Program Manager @ Amazon, first year TC $160k. I am now in year II. Got a %4 base salary increase and ~10 RSU's(pre-split) added to my years 3 & 4 as part of my first year pay review. So far I observed that %80 of L8's know what they are talking about. Half of that (%40) for L7s, %20 of L6s and really almost everyone below that is clueless and super lost. The ones I am disappointed about the most are the L7's - seems like many of them lack true leadership skills. They walk into a room and they are desperate to be L8s so they act like them. Confidence should flow from competence not the other way around. Our L7 does not know what we do & essentially promoted a L6 to L7 so that he can manage things for him. None of them sadly know anything about the business and/or invest time to understand it. #amazon #leadershipprinciples

Because you aren't technical, it makes sense that the only people you can relate to are the people who present well (L8+). Thank you for your opinion.
