I got matched with a team and wasn't excited enough about the work during the call with the hiring manager. The manager was not inclined to move forward and the recruiter pulled the offer saying no other teams were interested. Didn't get far enough into the process to learn what the TC would be.
Which company?
I feel the team match process in google and LinkedIn are totally different. Google let the tech manager to meet me. But I met a PM in LinkedIn. And gave me a lot of BQ like an interview. Seriously?
You might be a backup candidate and their first draft took the offer. This happens a lot.
I love your name
I changed mine in your honor
You don’t want to join a team your boss is not excited to have you onboard. You want a boss who is going to convince you. I second there is probably other candidate he or she can pull anyway. So to he or her, you are just a card. Speaking of which :) come join us.
If this happened in last few days, then I have a theory. Last week Linkedin cancelled onsite interviews for couple of my friends and they said job openings were put on hold. So I think some reorganization is happening inside and that may be the reason to cancel your offer.
I say this a lot: LinkedIn is the worst when it comes to headcount. Always run out and then hiring crazy again after a month. Yes, I was rejected by LinkedIn but it was because I bombed the onsite lol. But I know a few people personally who got ghost treatment and HODL treatment. The benefits though. Good place to retire at. You could come in at 10 and leave by 3pm on good day.
tc/gtfo seems like u know everything about LinkedIn. BTW wtf is Oscar? Some Midwest crap company?
Did you sign the offer and it got revoked ? Or was the offer contingent on team match?
What do you mean sign the offer letter. I never did that and I don’t know if there is anything like that. I always indicate my accept through email
You must have signed something eventually.
Are at Amazon now? Would you mind messaging me. My team has a sexy SDE opening
Could you pm me? I used up all of mine.
OP, if the comments from the LinkedIn employees in this thread are any indication, you dodged a cruise missile. Pat yourself on the back and keep on interviewing!

maybe you dodged a bullet there?
It would make me feel better but I haven't noticed any correlation between the quality of the hiring process and actually working at a company. LinkedIn did this to me and they have the best benefits and perks on the planet. Amazon was very patient helping me find the right team and yet the nytimes article came out a month later.
how was your actual experience working at amzn?
