I'm currently on opt stem extension but the company is applying for the H1B for me (consular processing). If I'd like to change jobs during this period, can I just not activate my H1B and stay on my opt? I have the TN Visa to fall back on if I don't get it next year I would not like to wait until October this year to switch
Even if h1b is approved, if you don’t change status, in this case by going to get the visa stamped, then you’ll remain on your current opt status.
Thanks I was wondering if it will affect next year's h1b?
