Lenders in seattle area

I am looking for lenders to buy a house ~1m (20% down) . My realtor told me to stay away from online places as they usually dont have a local person and asked me find someone local . He gave some recommendations but did not push it. My goal is to get the best rate, should i pick a few banks and credit unions and start the process or should i use websites like quickenloans and what documents do they generally ask?
