1. Pretty privilege is when your coworker’s presentation gets praised for its “innovative ideas” while yours, with the exact same content, gets criticized for “lacking depth,” simply because they have a charming smile and you haven’t had your morning coffee yet. 2. Pretty privilege is when you’re running late for a meeting, but the receptionist still greets you with a warm smile and offers you coffee, while your less attractive colleague gets a cold stare and a reminder of company policy on punctuality. 3. Pretty privilege is when you can ask for help with a task at work, and your coworkers enthusiastically jump to assist, eager to spend time with you, while your less attractive counterpart struggles to find someone willing to lend a hand. Can also substitute pretty privilege with being a >4/10 woman. TC: $240k
Cope harder
I just think it’s funny people lose their mind over “male privilege” when in reality some 5’6 rajeesh or Chang is the bottom of the social hierarchy.
Remember that you can be attractive to others without being pretty
Can you tell me what it is like to be ugly
Where did you copy paste this from lol
This is the most under discussed privilege there is mostly due to the fact that people discussing it have to admit they are ugly
What is there to talk about? We all know and acknowledge that it's a thing. It isn't going to change in your lifetime.
This can be overcome to some extent by being a good speaker/presenter. A lot of people really suck or just outright lack this skill
Instead of complaining about other people why aren’t you simply taking notes and improving yourself?
It sounds like you need to work on your presentation and social skills.
and stop showing up late
Welcome to world. How long does it take you to understand this?
