For people working for Lyft, especially engineers: how is work culture? work life balance? are you satisfied with engineering work? are you optimistic about the future of Lyft? anything that you would like new comer to know before deciding to join? For others: what do you think about future of Lyft? what do you think it will be valued at in 3-4 years?
love lyft
great company, good engineers but you're late to ride sharing. Unless they give you a lot of cash don't rely on equity. The unsuccessful Lyft sale is also concerning.
The sale seemed like a rumor to hurt a fundraising round to me.
Spot on - the sale was an Uber generated rumor - in reality drivers like lyft more, I hope lyft gets aggressive and collaborate with international players. It is definitely hard to get hired there though - they have a smaller focused team - unlike Ubers mostly large and inefficient engineering team.
I liked people I met. would be really good culture fit. projects are interesting. only concerns are commute and company going bankrupt. but I doubt latter will happen.
You just answered your own question
Burning $50m per month right now on 13m trips, not gaining market share.
Lyft people are really excellent on a personal level. They always try to do the right thing by their employees. If you can stomach the business risk, you'll like it there
It's the best work culture I've ever experienced. Super happy here.
Seconded! I love working here.
Most exciting part about Uber for me is the fact it is global. I love meeting with colleagues based all over the world in London, Rio, Jakarta, etc. Won't work for a company like this ever again.
What's the comp/equity vs google, what level? Commute is a killer BTW
don't have numbers yet.
No one can be 100% sure, but I am quite confident that Lyft has a bright future. Workplace is awesome, I assure you that you'll love it. You'll have a lot of opportunities to have bigger impact.
I believe that - what is the best way to apply ?
I tried , it's hard - they get a lot of resumes per posting - 5x more than Ubers. This is like Uber in 2013 - I am trying hard but even after mutiple applications no call :( maybe they don't hire directly from Uber .
Nice culture, good people. Much less brotastic than Uber.
How do you know this exactly
Haven't you seen the Internet news? Uber's the devil, except when the corrupt local city government is. You'll never believe what happens next.
Smart people, great work life balance, work is a good mix of engineering driven and product driven work
Are you seriously considering? There is no upside, only downside.
do truly believe that company with an annual revenue of 1.9B is not worth $5.5B?
Popo, is it before or after driver cut? Sounds like I can have high hope for Uber now.
