Blind did a recommended companies poll and the results are in. Let’s discuss: Let’s have some Square employees speak up, is it really that good, and why? Atlassian - everyone is that happy to be agile? And we have some interesting bottom results. No surprise with WeWork. Oracle, Walmart, Uber Lyft and AirBnB.
besides the layoffs, what’s so bad about Uber? Seems like there’ll be good work once the pandemic so over? Or is Dara instituting an Expedia like culture?
Uber is no longer considered a prestigious company. The culture since Dara has been stale and there is a serious lack in vision. He’s a businessman and does one thing only-buying out other companies. Uber needs a visionary and bold leader who takes the rights risks. They had that in Travis, but he had his own demons.
Bloomberg better than google . Stupid poll
I'm really curious about Atlassian too!! Esp. since it's the only Australian company. Who knew it would be second?! But why...
No idea.
While Atlassian is technically headquartered in Australia, the largest portion of our workforce is now located in the US, including most execs.
This poll doesn’t tell you whether a company is better to work for than another. It only tells you whether the employees are happy at their company. Most of the squares I know are motivated by the company mission. The culture at the company is great, most of us believe in the leadership, and the overall morale is high. It also helps that our stock is on 🔥.
You guys non ironically call yourselves squares? Yeesh
There’s a lot of koolaid
Interesting how square and twitter are both led by Dorsey but have such different scores
I've been going through a bit with quarantine and parenting and work stress and without going too far into details (DM if you really want to know) Square has been supportive at a level I didn't think still existed in the workplace. I can't imagine a company being more considerate or understanding. And it helps that the stock is ridiculous of course.
Lol wait until you’ve tried a few WLB companies. Work life balance means life in workday.
This company genuinely cares about people. There have been some unfortunate management hires, so culture in those groups may be tougher. But Jack told the company to take care of themselves first and get enough sleep multiple times through the pandemic. He told us “the company may take a hit and that’s ok. You come first.” How many leaders would watch out for people like ours? I know facebook was very caring for the first 6 months, but now it’s back to business. Square is still trying to be accommodating and work together through this. This mentality plus the stock price raised morale and motivated the whole Company.
Lol this is a stupid poll
