Levels at Snap vs Amazon
I’m a new hire at Snap in LA. I’ve just noticed I’m a level 4 engineer. I was a L5 in Amazon before. During the conversations and negotiation with the Snap recruiter the levels never come up. Did I went back in my career as a L4 in Snap in comparison with my L5 in Amazon?

“4” and “5” are highly contextual. Look at fb/ goog e4 / t4 for example
Amazon levels are one higher than the equivalent at most places cuz we have warehouse workers
And snap is down a level compared to google or facebook.
L4 at Snap is absolutely above L5 at Amazon.
Ya you got a pretty good deal coming in at L4. You know your comp before hand and it’s definitely way more than amzn L5 🤷🏽♂️
