SDE All backend engineering. Which one is better for growth and learning? Similar TC. Niantic a little higher than two. But not by a lot.
Niantic & Grab seem to have interesting problems to solve. Wework, not so much
Isn't wework just a co working space? What do they develop, billing software?
What's wrong with Grab? Why aren't people voting for it? Seems like a cool company to me....
WeWork seems to be hiring a lot recently.
I would go to great lengths to stop you from going to Niantic if you were a friend of mine. Worst company I’ve ever worked in. Their Glassdoor reviews are also skewed and they portray a very friendly image. It’s the complete opposite when you actually work there.
Why did you say Niantic is the worst company? Could you give some more info?
It was the worst company “I’ve ever worked in”. There are worse companies out there of course. To answer your question, micromanagement, absolutely no work-life balance, and blatant favoritism towards anyone who’s close to the CEO (it’s still a small company).
Most of the "cool problems" have been solved at Niantic. Line level Engineers are good but management leaves a lot to be desired. A single manager can have up to 30 direct reports. Niantic leaders like Ed Wu or Niniane Wand are mediocre at best. Consider Niantic only if you really love Pokémon (they work closely with the Pokémon company) or Pokémon Go.
