Well deserved, Spotify flaunted a lot of rules during layoffs, by offering exit packages. Did not follow the redundancy process as required by European laws. Instead there was a lot of discrimination and specific team members were asked to leave (not performance related) based on whim of the manager. Ideally, the entire team is put in focus and consultancy process should decide which members leave (based on the importance of their job profile) it's sad
Fuck yeah. Letās now reverse layoffs at Meta too and get the stock back to $79 for refreshers.
Lmao imagine being forced to pay a bunch of useless people by the government. Communism is a cancer of the world.
This is actually somewhere between Communism and Capitalism.
Doesn't really make a difference. All forms of communism should be abolished.
W Netherlands!
Same thing happened in Atlassian last year in Amsterdam
Nice! I'm pleased that there are regulations in place in Europe to safeguard people's employment. Can you provide information on the outcomes for the individuals initially impacted by the situation? Did Atlassian have to re-allocate them to other teams, or what transpired following the court's decision?
They saved time by skipping a step and now they have to spend more time on it. What's the real chance of layoffs being reversed based on a technicality? I guess it's pretty low.
So Short Spotify?
My guess is they just do away with the Netherlands office if possible. Might take some time but will probably happen. If not a full closure I would imagine a severe cutback and slowly move the org to a bare minimum of people
But the severance to legal minimum to compensate for the inconvenience.
Socialism FTW š¤£
I am in EU bro. Shit salaries but okay.
People live longer and have higher qol itās not just about $$
