I am tired of these companies giving impossible code tests out just so they have the power over everyone. They hire people that even failed their silly test if they really want the person. The test isn't meant to be passed. It is meant to be there to protect themselves legally when they say no to most candidates. Hey doctor, can you do this surgery without any of your own tools, in a new surgery room, with a new set of team members, with a new testing framework robot that you haven't worked with... oh, and we cannot tell you which kind of surgery to prepare for. The software industry has a lot of growing up to do. It is still new compared to most other industries. And the corrupt executives and receuiters are hell bent on ruining my craft and passion.
I worked at liberty for 6 years, and was pushing for actual coding problems for a long time. My interview was entirely the “where do you see yourself in 5 years” type
I had a behavioral and tech interview, started in June last year
I think companies like Liberty just copy/paste from code interviews given by the tech industry. They probably don't know how to create a proper test for their environment and needs.
We definitely do lol. Just cheaper to use a service for it. Plus no one wants to maintain an environment for tech interview lmao
What was the coding question
Design a form validation progress bar in 50 minutes for React using Mocha for unit tests inside of some stripped down notepad editor.
Recruiter said no one has aced it. No one. 0. You also would have to use Mocha to ace it. Your hyperbole isn't constructive.
The test isn't meant to be passed. It is there to protect the company legally. And it is there to best people down on salary.
Liberty Mutual has a hard coding test? What was the coding problem?
He's not at Liberty to say
I guess it wasn't mutual 🤷♀️
