Hey all I hope you are having an amazing day. As you can tell by the title, I wanted to get some opinions of individuals that have gone through the Liberty Mutual TechStart program. How was the interview process for you and what year did you get in? I am currently at the Final Stage of the process and I have been told it will be a live code with managers, but I have no idea how to prepare for it or what kind of questions they have asked in the past. I equally do not see their Tags on Leetcode. For those that have gone through it before how was it for you? And after going through the program, how helpful was it in your career? What is the TC for a TechStart and TC after the TechStart program at Liberty Mutual? I am a new grad. Thanks #tech #techcareer #techdata
I started in what is now the Tech Start program as well. I enjoyed it immensely and though the format may be slightly different, the end goal of giving you a wide exposure to tech and business here. That to me was the best part. Over the course of the program I did everything from backend Java, to full stack using Angular and Node, all the way to AI/ML with python. Liberty will also be the easiest entry into working life you can find. Our work life balance, development and ERG groups are fantastic. Feel free to DM with more questions
Thank you so much for your reply I will dm you rn.
I was an intern and joined techstart program in 2018. My salary was 70k starting out, I believe it’s more in the 80’s or close to it now though. I did not have a coding interview but I am almost betting it’s nothing serious as other companies. I’ve interacted with a ton of tech starters and the ranges vary from awful at coding they can barely do a for loop in Python to making full stack apps with ease so I feel like it might be an easy interview and more of a cultural fit to see how you work and solve problems. It’s a good company to start out but you can def make good money somewhere else after you get some experience. Yearly bonuses won’t be much at all for you (like 4k if they have a good year) if I remember correctly until you start climbing but even as I got exceeded and got double my bonus it was still only 10k. Overall I think the program is very good. It’s low pressure and you get to vet 3-5 different teams to see where you want to work. I’m thankful for this as I love data engineering and didn’t realize it until after the program. I learned a lot social wise and had a good mentor. Feel free to dm.
Thank you so much for all the information!! I will dm you right now to ask for your advice on certain things.
