Life after Amazon brand on Resume. Does landing interview become easier ?
Hi everyone, Posting on behalf of a friend. Want to know is it worth joining Amazon for the brand name ? I want to work as an Android Engineer at companies like Spotify, Netflix, Uber Amsterdam, Meta, Snap etc... But for some reason my resume is not getting through there! Not able to land an interview. I'm able to get calls from Google, MSFT, Booking.com, Zalando etc though. Want to know will the Amazon brand name help with this situation ? Atleast landing an interview at any company in any part of the world. Also, is the TC offered better if coming from Amazon vs any other non-faang ? Unicorn startup in India. He didn't agree to reveal the exact name as some might recognise him after knowing the exact TC breakup and previous org.
Well he is not just joining for brand name, don't you think that's a good offer for 2.5 yr exp? Also the mentioned companies mostly hire people in us only. So one career path can be joining amazon -> internal transfer to Seattle after 2 yr -> switch
Oh okay. Spotify doesn't hire in Sweden ? Also, meta does hire here in India for London offices.

There are definitely some companies that I see on a resume and I give the interviewee a bit more credibility up front.. Amazon is one of those. There are also some companies that I vet the candidate a bit more because the company has a poor reputation
What's eBay's effect on resumes
I haven't worked with many people from eBay (or heard much positive or negative), so I would probably put it in the middle category (no positives / no negatives)
I have Amazon on my resume and every company you listed has been kicking down my door trying to get me to apply. All US though
So the Amazon brand really works!
Also, how long do you have to be at Amazon for this ?
