Age 38 TC 200K - hating current job on H1b, donât even feel like exploring new job, as I eventually want to start up something . Working on prototype but itâs going slow. Need to contact angel investors (as not much savings) but that is going slower How do I get out of this vicious circle ?
You need some perspective, less than 2% of Americans achieve 200K TC at any age. If you take world as whole you are like in top 0.1% in terms of income.
I also tried doing startup and failed badly. It pushed my career back by several years. Failure is part of life, embrace it.
Good to see someone around my age earning more or less near to what I do. Not that I am jealous of ppl earning a lot or those who earn less... But seeing sky high TCs depress me to the core and then I slowly get back to normal. Sometimes I wonder is it me that's bad or too many ppl better be than me. Only be thing I am glad about is I have a PhD and got my GC in 8 months.
I also have PhD - biggest dragger for income for age. I donât feel great when some people say he gets more money and better title even though he only has bachelors. They try to feel great by saying that.
Welcome to social media .. dude learn about the impact about social media and donât believe everything that is posted on social media .. long term everything averages out
Life is what you make of it. You have to lead it wherever you want it to go. It's not just going to take you there on it's own. Find out what you want in life and go out and do it. Every day. Every free moment. It will not be comfortable but eventually you will make it if your will is strong enough.
If I may ask what is the household TC

Focus on building a solid prototype. Investors and đ° will follow. The faster you build prototype(s) the earlier you can validate your idea and decide what to do next with venture, take it to next level, pivot, stop etc. If it fails you can focus on getting a better job. All the best.
Yes this is exactly what I am focusing on - get it out quickly and efficiently to get feedback. If it does not work, try for a job
There is this Japanese proverb "when you chase two chickens, you'll be left empty handed" or something like that.
NOT.. if you know how to chase two chickens..
But if you choke 2 chickens, you will be left sticky handed (and right sticky handed as well)
