Modi is a legend, will be remembered for centuries to come
I'm an early 20s Indian finance grad from a European uni. Figure out your arbitrage boys and girls. I'm sitting at $110k (~80 LPA based on the exchange) but I would be ** average ** in the US. I asked my employer if WFH was cool (with a few in office visits per year) and they accepted. I live in a T3 city in India and the lifestyle arbitrage is absolutely insane. The money goes so much further here than it would if I was living where my office is. Bottom line, figure out your arbitrage. We live in a world where small to medium size finance/tech shops don't care if you live in the most expensive city in the world. You can invest in companies, sell companies, make decks, wherever you are. Make the most of the post-pandemic era.
What is LPA? As a western person I’ve had difficulty understanding how Indian numbering and finances work. Like it’s not just pennies and dollars but a different concept.
LPA translates to Lakhs per Annum. One Lakh is 100,000 INR ~ $1400 USD
not Indian but it stands for Lakhs (100,000s) per Annum
My arbitrage is clean air and water and access to healthy life choices.
LOL if u think India doesn't have those, go back under the rock you crawled out of.
Clean air? Okay will do
You really think you figured something magical out? What a useless post.
Glad this worked out for you OP. It's is not easy to find company paying 100K$ for someone working from India with 2YOE
How do your taxes work out? Btw congrats, I don't think if you don't have to pay for your rent your yearly expenses would cross even 5 LPA in T3.
Yeah the taxes are a bit tricky but nothing too hectic. My expenses are about $12k yearly but that is mostly travel expenses and big ticket purchases. I live with my parents so lucky not to pay rent.
Is your employer filing payroll taxes with the Indian government?
Which company?
I'm at a small buy-side shop
