Two days ago I got an email saying that a two step verification was set up on my LinkedIn account. I didn’t set that up so I attempted to change password. However when I send the verification code to my email, I never get anything. I have checked spam and junk. Now I have lost access to my LinkedIn account via the App also. I have reported the account as hacked however I’m not sure how long it’ll take before I get a response or if I’ll even get a response. I did not have my phone number linked to the account, just my email which I have access to. I also had a few friends search for my profile but it doesn’t exist it seems? They can no longer see anything messages they previously sent me nor can they can see my profile. I also had had job alerts set up and I would regularly receive alerts via email and those have also stopped. Has anyone experienced this and is there any way I can get my account back? According to LinkedIn my email is still in use. I would appreciate any help. #linkedin
Sir, this is a Wendy’s
Why would people hack LinkedIn? It's pretty useless.
Agreed. However sucks for me because I’ve spent a good amount of time building my network on LinkedIn
Ethical hacker here. Linkedin is the top resource for cyber gangs to do OSINT. There goal is to build info around companies to find the main system admins and connections. This will better target and manage there plan to hack them in the future.
LinkedIn account hacked. Said no one ever.
Reporting seems to be the correct action. If it's taking too long for the support to get back to you, ask someone with LinkedIn Premium to contact support via chat on your behalf.
Good riddance
